HOW TO COOK RICE
STEPS:
STEP 1 TO COOK RICE
Average rice sold in the US is normally fortified with key vitamins and minerals (like Iron and Niacin), most of which will be washed away if the rice is soaked and washed prior to cooking. But Then, soaking and washing the rice will effect in fluffier, lighter cooked rice, with better grain that doesn’t stick. Rinsing will take out a good percentage of the starch in the grain providing the protein intact.
STEP 2 TO COOK RICE
Soak the rice in cold water for 30-60 mins.
STEP 3 TO COOK RICE
wash in dip until it the water is clear enough to see the rice through it. So basically, maintain the water going on mild while shaking the rice until the smoggy white color turns to good clear.
STEP 4 TO COOK RICE
Measure one cup of cleaned rice into a pot (or you if you skipped the soaking/washing you can start here with dry rice out of the bag).
STEP 5 TO COOK RICE
Pour Out one & a half cups of cold water into the pot.Depending on the rice and your measures, you may want to add 1.75 cups of H2O.
STEP 6 TO COOK RICE
Position the pot over a limited to high flame.
STEP 7 TO COOK RICE
Decline the heat to the minimum possible when the rice comes to a ranging boil, and keep heating for five more mins.. Position a better sealed lid on the pot at this point in time.
A “rolling boil” is when huge bubbles appear that cannot be dissipated by stirring, & will maintain breaking the surface. In doing rice, the ranging boil is so that sufficient steam makes up to entirely cook the rice without it being over an open flame.
STEP 8 TO COOK RICE
Turn off the heat after 5 minutes. Put a paper towel between the lid & the pot to prevent wet buildup. Don’t raise the lid as the steam inside will cook the rice through.
* The pot of rice will be fully cooked, light and ready to eat around ten minutes after the ignite is switch off.
STEP 9 TO COOK RICE
Make a small sample of the rice to make sure it is done (this should be zero problem if you measured out the H2O correctly). If the rice is still a little crunchy, position the lid back on to retain the steam, and get a small bit of warm water from the tap (not too much, maybe a one-fourth of a cup) and put together it to the pot. Position the lid back on & wait another few minutes.
